Let’s Explore: A Family Hike at Wesselman Woods

While working on my Indiana Master Naturalist certification at Wesselman Woods, I was put in contact with Meghan Reffett, another Evansville local. She was in the process of writing a children’s book. It would be about her and her family’s adventure at Wesselman Woods, discovering all sorts of fascinating plants and animals along the way. I was honored for the opportunity to illustrate her story. Over the next six months, we collaborated and created this book together.

Are you ready to explore? Join James and Eli as they walk the trails at Wesselman Woods, listen to the sounds of nature, encounter animals, and much more!

Explore more: Wesselman Woods, located in Evansville, Indiana is the largest tract of virgin, old-growth forest within any city limits in the United States. It’s also home to the nation’s largest nature playscape.
